Default Prop Sizes

I wanted to find out the prop sizes you guys would recommend with the following engines .15, .25, .29, .35 and .40. Do airboats have any different prop requirements than planes...in other words should I just go with the airplane prop that would go with that size engine if it were going in a plane?

Just go by the manufactures size chart for the engine. The fact that it is in a boat or a plane should not make any difference. You will probably have to experiment with the sizes to get the boat tweaked the way you want. Just remember, do NOT use wooden props. They will seriously come apart if they get wet.

Best regards,
Pete

Problem is I don't have any of the manyfacturer's charts since the engines I mentioned are all older Enya's (with the exception of the .25 which is a newer O.S.). Anyways, I guess the most important question I was getting at is if there are size/pitch differences between the recommended airboat and plane props with the same sized engine that I should watch for. But I see it doen't matter...so I should have any problems trying to find the plane prop size guidelines for my engines.

Thanks

The manufacturer's recommendations is a good starting point.
But depending on the weight of the boat and how you want the boat to run and react....you'll want to play with different props to get the one that best fits the boat. On my 46's I generally run an 11-7 or 11-8 on water but when running dry I like to run an 11-6.
Get a good starting point and experiment. Each boat set up may require different proppings.
