Building a Boat
Hi Guys,
Now the bug really bit me, hard.
I'm thinking of building a boat with a .40 size engine. After looking around some old threads I came up with the measurements: 25" x 12" x 1.5" - Would this be a good start?
What kind of foam should I buy (Regular, Pink, Blue, ect.)? Should I just shape it then glass it, or put some doorskin over it then glass it? What kind of glass (Onces) and what kind of epoxy?
Thanks for all the help! I will get some pictures of the other boat when parts arrive and this boat.
You've guys have been awesome... Let me know when you have the next Florida airboating event. [8D]

Thanks! Just thought of another question...
What type of ply should I use for the rodders and the wood used on the back of Chris's hull? Thanks again.

RE: Building a Boat
If using a wood rudder use 1/8" birch. It's a 3 ply.
The wood in the transom of my foam boats are 1/4" ply.
As for foam....they all work. White, pink, blue, yellow, green, etc. As for my personal preference, I like the blue foam. I have made alot of boats from white foam also.
