air boat
hi guys i have a large scale 25cc hovercraft approx 48 inches long i want to build a air boat and make it pretty real looking what size of air boat would suit a 25cc engine my hover crafts engine is low down and the drive is belt driven to a 3 blade prop could a air boat be made from aluminum sheet to look like the real thing and do you think the gas engine would move a aluminum body thanks guys any links and pictures of large scale gas air boats would be appreciated

You should have no problem at all. The hull should be about 20" x 40", dont over design itor over build it, and keep it from getting too heavy. I think there are some aluminum boats in Per's gallery at [link=http://www.rc-airboats.com/gallery/]rcairboats.com[/link].
[link=http://cajungatorairboats.com/v-web/bulletin/bb/index.php]Cajun Gator airboats[/link] makes some wood r/c's that are also realistic, but I have seen some others that are good replicas of an everglades boat. Search around these sites and at [link=http://rcairboats.net/v-web/bulletin/bb/index.php]rcairboats.net[/link] and you'll get lots of ideas.
You may be able to make the boat smaller if you are mounting the engine lower, but you'll have to experiment. 15Lbs RTR is something good to shoot for with your plans, but that may or may not run dry ground very well. Good luck.
