hi all
am new to this site, have built 2 airboats 1 flat bottom and a 3-pointer
both have been great sucesses [sm=biggrin.gif]
but back to the point .. in school i have chosen business studies and as part of the course work i need to create a false business... so i decided to build and sell rcairboats [8D] and as a part of this course work i need to do research in to the business - see iof there is a market for it etc..
so i was hoping that you guys could mabe spend a min or two and please answer a couple of questions please
1)Do you own a model airboat?
2)If so what construction is it?
3)Would you be interested in purchasing a hand crafted ready made airboat?
4)If so what construction would you prefer? -Wood (built up) or foam (glassed)?
5)What finish would you prefer glassed wood or painted?
6)What price would you expect to pay for the following kits – a RTR foam glassed hull with a .46 size engine,
- A RTR foam glassed hull with a .46 size engine and radio.
- A RTR wood built hull with a .46 size engine and radio.
- An ARTR foam glassed hull without engine or radio.
- An ARTR wood built hull without engine or radio.
7) Should you purchase a model airboat what services would you expect / like to receive? (Free engine run in? Repairs service?)
8) Should you purchase a model airboat would you expect find an instruction book included in the package? - Any other items?
9) Should you purchase a model air boat how would you expect to pay for it? – pay pal? Cheque? Cash?
thanks ever so much all for your time in advance

1)Do you own a model airboat? YES , a few
2)If so what construction is it? WOOD
3)Would you be interested in purchasing a hand crafted ready made airboat? POSSIBLY
4)If so what construction would you prefer? -Wood (built up) or foam (glassed)? WOOD ONLY
5)What finish would you prefer glassed wood or painted? PAINTED OR GLASSED
6)What price would you expect to pay for the following kits – a RTR foam glassed hull with a .46 size engine, WOULDN'T BUY A FOAM HULL
- A RTR foam glassed hull with a .46 size engine and radio. DITTO ON ABOVE
- A RTR wood built hull with a .46 size engine and radio. DEPENDS ON WHICH ENGINE
- An ARTR foam glassed hull without engine or radio. AGAIN < WOULD NOT BUY A FOAM HULL
- An ARTR wood built hull without engine or radio. DEPENDS ON THE REP OF THE BUILDER
7) Should you purchase a model airboat what services would you expect / like to receive? (Free engine run in? Repairs service?) ENGINE RUN SHOULD BE DONE BY BUYER, EVERYONE BURNS IN THEIR ENGINES DIFFERENTLY. SERVICES - POSSIBLY SETUP
8) Should you purchase a model airboat would you expect find an instruction book included in the package? - Any other items? NOT UNLESS IT WAS AN ARTR
9) Should you purchase a model air boat how would you expect to pay for it? – pay pal? Cheque? Cash? PAYPAL ONLY ....
There are quite a few of your questions that are very vague and there could be a lot of things that could make a difference .
Like for example ... if the builder is reputable , and makes a known performance hull , then this would sway someones answer as to whether or not they would possibly buy one . ( and also at what price - a NEW builder would not get the same price as one that has already established creditablity in performance , quality and service.
Heres another example ... I have build MANY RC boats , both airboats and water propped boats . And my foam ones ,I attempted , literally SUCKED in looks ! ( didn't perform too bad though
)
Again , your questions are very open and there are LOTS of things that would make the deciding factors in making those decisions that would have to be known before anwers could be given .
Also , you should try and make this more of a POLL question , that way , the thread won't end up being a mile long .... ( heck , look at how long MINE is , and there is LOTS more to be said
