RE: rudder..
If you are lucky, Don will post his pics.
I've run single and dual rudders and had good luck with both. On my running boats right now, I only have single rudders.
Warning, some of the following pics show wood props. Not a good idea on a boat! I've learned better since then.
When using flexible cables, I like to set it up in a pull-pull config. That takes out any slop in the linkages. A cable then runs to each rudder, or to each side of a single rudder.
One hinge method I have used with great success is straps. I used tape to strap the coat hanger to the rudder. Then the coat hanger goes through a plate at the bottom, and a plate at the back of the engine mount.
On the first single rudder setup I did, I made a wire frame to hold the top of the rudder.
Hope this helps.

RE: rudder..
Hey Don ....
( aren't guys , usually warlocks rather than witch's )
All kidding aside . single verses dual pends on the length and height of the rudder(s) .
Also , depends on how much control you want and at what speeds . Certain style hulls will benefit better from smaller rudder(s) whereas , others will benefit from larger ones .
For example ... say hull A has a more narrow hull than say hull B does , then the rudder for hull A should be of smaller sizes due to the ability to flip easier in turns at higher speeds .
Same goes for a hull that has a heavier engine or a higher CG .
Also , the faster you go , then LESS steering you want .
Think if you will , if you fly RC planes and had 5 inch width ( front to back - not side to side ) aerilons on say a 40 trainer ... WOW !
