big air boat propeller size ???

Default big air boat propeller size ???

i am building my first air boat and testing it. i have a os .61 motor on it right now but be cause my boat is so big and heavy it wont go very fast im talking like 10 mph is it its made out of 1/4 ply wood and i fiber glassed the bottom and sides and part of the top well i am thinking of using a weed eater motor for it but i have no clue on size of proppeller i should get any thing will help thanks guys.

o and its mesears 2'1/2 long and 1'' wide ill try 2 post some pic in a bit if i can figure out how

normally a 16 incher would do ... but with that size hull , I would be afraid of it being too top heavy with a weedie engine .

WOW!!!!!
build a new hull, use model grade plywood, if your not wanting to spend that money go with the door skin, just don't expect it to last all that long, unless your careful and only run in the water.
If your wanting a gasser go with 46" x 21-22" x 3" top sipe measurements.
best size material to use is either 3/32" or 1/8" 5ply aircarft grade plywood.

hi try a 11 by 6 or a 11 by 7 graupner prop I have an os 61 found that it is the best my boat is 3 foot long by 18" and its a bit heavy but with that prop it go,s like a bat out of hell with that prop

Hopefully , VAMP , you were referring to the prop for a 61 .... on a gasser , that will allow the gasser / weedie engine to WAY over-rev .
