Got the kit last month and finally got everything together to get started. Here's two days worth of work (in between other family activities).

Jasper you boat looks great. Do you have any concern with epoxy sticking to the stain.

I used a water based wood stain from Minwax. I did a test before hand with some scrap wood to compare bare wood with the prepped and stained wood. In my primitive test the prepped and stained wood actually had a stronger joint than the unprepped wood.

No problems so far.

I've been too busy working on the boat to post updates. As a result, she's finished!
Looking to hit the pond next week.
