handling problems light steering
Hi Guys i had an asp 61 on my boat it was great till it died
so bought an os 61 very powerful that good ripped the engine mount off the hull so tried a few things but too heavy ended up fitting to strips of wood for the engine mount to sit on with aluminium warped around to hold it on now this increased the engine height by 1.5 cm had tons of problems so now got the engine down to the original height of the old engine but the handling is really bad very light you just touch the control it spins around is the engine still to high i got a film of it in the water it just wants to go around in circles all the time does not want to go straight its a heavy hull i have but still go,s not that bad its a brand new engine just a few runs with it what am i doing wrong I look forward to your reply here it is running http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=As34Gr_LOPM |
RE: handling problems light steering
I don't think it would be a weight or center of gravity issue. Normally when something won't go straight it's because it's going faster than what the hull can handle, it's "out of control". The only thing I can think of for you to try is to add a fin or two to the bottom. I think that will make it go straight when you want it to, even if my assumption of the problem is wrong. Give it a try.;)

did the engine mount get put back on just a little askew? Maybe the angle of the engine is just a few degrees off of what it used to be.
