Default what prop to use for magnetic meyhem

on 6 cells. I want to go surface drive. Probably deep vee style hull. I want to pull ~25 amps or so.

Thanks!

This is a good motor, I've used it in a Kyosho Jet Arrow with a surface drive and an X440 prop. It works good on 6cells, but best on 7cells.

Thanks,

I will try it on 6 cells, since that's what I have. I also have 2, 10 cell packs, is there a prop that will work with the MM and 10 cells?

Also, do I need the reverse motor or regular rotation....Sorry, but I am an RC airplane guy who wants to build a boat.

Regular rotation,,, which is counterclockwise (CCW) as you face the shaft, almost all boat props are made to run CCW. Be careful not to use too many batteries, with too big a prop, you will melt the endbell & then the motor cannot be repaired,,, 8 cells maybe the limit?

We use 10 cells on these in airplanes all the time. The trick is to limit the current with the correct prop, or a gearbox. We have calc software for airplanes, is there such a thing for boats?

If you use 10 cells on that motor in a boat, at best you might get one run out of it.
The load a boat prop buts on the motor is far greater than a correctly sized airplane prop.
You may be able to get away with 8 cells if you use a very small prop like an X427 or X430, but 10 cells is out of the question.
Very different calculations from air prop to water prop.
To may variables to be able to calculate it properly.

I would use a gearbox....2.5:1, or 3:1
