Gluing Pushrod Seals to the hull
Hey folks...I've got a 55 Shockwave SS I'm working on for a friend and I've got to replace the 2 pushrod seals on the hull. What is the best thing to glue them up with? When I was scraping off the old rotten ones it looked like maybe CA was used to attach the originals but I want to be sure.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

RE: Gluing Pushrod Seals to the hull
I'm a big fan of shoe goo, but will it work when there is nothing more than a butt joint between the rubber and gelcoat? There is no flange for the seal to mount on or groove to mount in. it just sticks to the back of the hull.
Sorry, not trying to be obstinate, I'm just totally green when it comes to rc boats.

RE: Gluing Pushrod Seals to the hull
There's a huge variety of pushrod seals out there from ones that are held in place with metal plates to a lot of that are only held on with adhesives. I keep many types around as I find that some seem to work better in different places. The Aeromarine seals can be CA'ed or glued on but someone has come out with a threaded insert that uses the Aeromarine seal.
Try some of the online RC boats sites and see what's out there as you could find your favorite one that would do the job for you.

Glue in a short brass sleeve and put the seal around that fastened with a ziptie. Cheap and easy to change if the seal breaks.
