I hope this isn't OT for this forum. I am helping a widow, trying to sell her husband's RC boat collection. She has moved to California and this stuff is sitting in my living room... I need to understand what she has and the approx. worth, and then the best to sell this stuff (if it's even worth anything). Each boat is approx. 3' long, but if I need to get more specs, please let me know. My fear is that most of this is really old and probably not worth much, and I'll wind up just putting it in the dumpster. Any help or direction would be appreciated. The gas boat is a Prather Fun cruiser. A great starter boat. Looks to be in reasonable condition - in good shape they will sell for up to $500 used
The large sail boat. I cannot recall the manufacturer. I have been after one myself. Watched a few selling for around $200 for hull and old electronics inside in average condition. I would think up to $200 if no mast and sails are on hand. If complete certainly more $$
The smaller sail boat. Tough to say about size or condition. Again for Hull and basic electronics inside I would say in the $200 range - maybe more for a motivated buyer.
Boxes of electronics and remote controls. I imagine the controls should go to the models shown. Will add value if you can match the radio to the model. The other electronic items I cannot really say. Not a whole lot of value best I can see but again with some good pictures you may get a bit of interest - or just as a package deal.
I am no expert on the sail boats or electronics but I would say you have $1000 to $1300 worth of gear in the pics I could see (sail boats may be worth considerably more if mast and sails are on hand and in good shape). I would think the best way to sell would be to list the three boats (with radios if available) individually - a package deal of everything there will only serve to lower the price as most buyers will want either the gas boat or sail boats - not so much both.
Good pictures can certainly help with the sale. If the boats are in great shape (hard to tell) then take them outside and take some good pics to show them off. Will certainly benefit.
This site does have a free classified section - though realistically the biggest issue with the boats you have is going to be shipping. So perhaps craigslist or ebay selling as pick up only may save a lot of work packaging.

Thank you very much for the response. I'll take some better pics tonight, along with all of the electronics and try to edit the AD. I just spoke to her and she said she would be thrilled with $1000 (I explained with shipping it would be much less) so I might try to piece some of this out and see what I can do. Again, thanks a lot for the response. Maybe after some better pics it will help a little. Is there something in particular I should be getting a pic of (I really didn't see labels and such) to help?

Pics of the overall condition - if there are areas of damage also. Pics of the hardware on the back of the gas boat as well as the motor etc. Pics of the inside of sailboats showing what (if any) electronics are installed.
Make sure the pics are sharp and well lit - blurry or dark pictures raise doubts in the buyers head.

The Prather Fun Cruiser appears to have never been run, a good thing. It seems like they went for around $600.00 new. I'll have to see if I can find an ad for it in a magazine.

I have one of the last catalogs that they put out and the fun Cruiser went for $1099.95 with radio and $949.95 without the radio.

The small sailboat looks to be a Dumas Huson 36
