Default hover craft help!

hey, it was awhile ago i found this forum. well it was actually this link in google i found http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_11..._3/key_/tm.htm while searching for help on a hover craft i was building. i have fully designed a hoverraft using the same idea behind the ones on this link

but i wanted to know it i would be able to use a standard car motor .12 force motor with a modified shaft to allow a belt to run to a prop?? i know with a smaller motor i'd have to make the raft alot smaller but thats what i want.. i just havent got the money for one of these big motors. and since im from australia i doubt i could just go buy one of these motors from a local hobbie store.

and also does anyone have any idea what the skirt of these hovercrafts are made from? and also how they are attacked to the craft.. i havent worked that out yet.. it looks like its been held via pins.. but if so, wont they fall out??

any help at all would be great.
