Yesterday I saw on RCU home page that the 18th annual Regatta at St. Louis Union Station. I missed yesterday's events but decided I had to go today. We got there just in time to check out the boats on display and quite a few in the water. This was my first experience with scale and electric boats. It was a treat. You couldn't have asked for a better setting at Union Station. Good sized pond for the tugs and runabouts to cruise around. Sat down at local restaurant and had lunch right by the pond.
The boats there were awesome. I never expected to be so excited to see a scale boat, but once I got there and checked them out, there were awesome. Those electrics are so nice and quiet. Hope everyone enjoys the pictures, I got quite a few of them!

And finally the last pics. My favorite is here also. I loved the Kustwacht boat. THe detail was amazing on it. But I give compliments ot all the boaters there. Each and every single boat was gorgeous. I can't wait till next year.

I wanted to know the gentlman that brought the USS Missouri Model. Since i had to work yesturday and had to do some erans before i went sunday i missed it. Becuse of the rain it closed ealier then it suppose to do. I went over Union Station around 12 to take pictures of the model but no one was there. I was guessing everyone left cause of the rain. But i was hoping if someone can get the hold of the gentleman with that model and forward his email to me so i may get some pictures of his. Since am working on the sterling version of the USS Missouri. Or he can send me a PM message on here. Thanks Yall hopefully see you threre next year with mine and a few others I have in the works.

Here you go Deathwish. I didn't get the name of the guy who built the ship, but I did get a picture of it. I got there about an hour before the rain. I got some pictures, then I sat and watched ot boats in the pond. They started giving out the awards, then I sat at Houlihan's and ate lunch, when the rain started. I only got this one picture. I wanted to see all the boats so I only got one or twe of each. I also included a couple more.

Great stuff...I wish we had some of those floating aroud here in the desert
. Where do these guy's find the parts for their rigs, I would build a ship in a heart beat if there were more around here to show them off.

I've been to a few scale ship regatta's as they used to hold the Great Lakes Regatta almost literally about 1-1/2 miles down the road from my house. Seeing the amount of pain-staking detail that goes into these boats and the driving ability that these people have is amazing.
Thanks for posting the shots.

I believe the gentalman who had the Missouri was Terry, nice guy. Last name escapes me though, I think he was from Ohio or Indiana. you should have been there on Saturday, there were a lot more boats on display. It's a shame the rain showed up as early as it did, I really, really didn't want to go back home to the wife and kids.

I don,t understand why the Regatta had to end so early it looks like there is some sort of roof over the place. [sm=47_47.gif]

It's kind of a roof, it's partially open and some spots are covered. The parts where the boats were was getting rained on.

So many excellent builders and yet hobby shops are folding up. It doesn't make any sense to me. Thanks for the photos they are great!
