ANOTHER 'Nice One' Kite !........I reckon you could build a board 'in your sleep' by now........that must be #20....I like the the overall 'look'......&.......the symmetry of the board......Get that Head Cam in action........and share the STOKE !

I had a 'Sweet'......6:30 am session down at Muizenberg, still Amped from yesterday.......far less surfers and some great 2-3 ft face waves to shred......

Ran into another GoPro...

Slash is not camera shy...

We are getting better at this...

Can't wait until he posts on his youtube channel.

Having someone shoot the video is so much better than trying to do it yourself.

Nice one Kitekook!
MJ, there's an original dude on e-bay, make an offer!
No affiliation:

Slowly working on my kyosho Lisa, reading and re-reading all the info on here, thanks to all for contributing.
Hard to fit any battery larger than a 3S, so probably going to run a Leopard 3660 3060kv and a 90 amp seaking esc.

Just received a link to the video shot this morning....

Not bad for less than one batterys' worth of time.

Funny how every Photographers style is different...this video very different from PK's.

edit: The thumbnail for this video tells me that I need to turn away from the wave face more as we go down the line...hopefully it will prevent the sliding up and over the falls...or at least postpone the enevitable...

I say less than one battery because there was some carnage this morning...

I have to remind myself "NO SHOREPOUND!!!!!"

The 'Divas could handle it...they loved it
but I have made these dudes 'lighter' in hopes of bringing down the overall weight

we were having a grand time...

Slash was tearing it up....kept trying to get another jump...

I really got lucky with that shot. I usually drop the Surfer in the water and then start the camera up...this time I started the camera and then dropped the surfer in. AND, my helmet cam actually fired at the right time AND in the right direction!

couldn't get another beauty like that first one.

then...

and...

ah$^#%!

Oh well....

Not like we haven't ridden headless before...lol

waves were pretty nice...couldn't stop now

then...I did mention the shorepound?

We're screaming along.....

What?!

OK! Thats's IT!

edit: Gathered up the pieces and got Slash all fixed up this afternoon...a little resin in the morning and we should be back out again.

Hey Kite !...........great photos......great jumps........great GoPro perspective.....looked very Knarly ! I'm trying to get Lisa-Marie to venture into the water....in fairness, Fishoek is known for it Great White Sharks...............maybe she has a valid point....LOL

You may want to fit some 'buggy wheels' to your board .....ridding that kind of Shore Break.......LOL

You guys should consider either using a complete '3D Silhouette core' as I do, when making your surfer - or- placing a few stringers in strategic joints....I'm sure it will improve the strength considerably.

YPC

Mavericks Maxes at 25 foot backs, It breaks at 10 foot backs also,
Just looking to get a medium Size Mav Wave to Start.

As for as an 8 lb board surfing a 12 - 15 foot face, I'm corrected, My board is under 8 lb
I have this Pic That Pro Surfer Koa Smith (From Kauai) sent me a while back
that he surfed My XT Pro in waves he stated were 6 - 8 foot backs, so thats 12 - 15 foot face
From A Guy That Doesn't Guess on wave size, He normally under estimates wave size.
I still think Hugh & MJ caught even bigger waves from the recent pix...

MJ
Awesome New Board, It is Said " If It's Not Broken, Don't Fix It"
Keep Doing The Magic You Do, Same is Good ...

Kite
Great Pix and Vid, Bummer Slash Lost Limbs and a head. Seems Like "Bro" is the only
Figure that hasn't lost a toe yet, Although it's Neoprene and some glass, Looks like it takes the beating at 2 -4 foot faces rather well.

Brice
Gread Vid on Kyosho, I won't miss trimming all the flange on the dude for sure
Brings back memories, some that I want to forget...

Hey Curls

I'm not saying that a 4lb board cant find itself in a 'big wave picture' such as the one you have shared........the question is rather ..........How well did it 'actually' ride the wave ?.........I think I saw some video footage of that session a while back (on you site)- and I dont think the board had the speed or weight to handle the actual wave.... not surfing it convincingly.- IMO - speed and weight 'on a big wave' is AL GOOD.........what you bring the 'the face' is your call......either you 'blow others away' - or- you 'get blown away'......LOL
It could boil down to Penny wise - Pound Foolish !..........

I love watching NASCAR.....its hard to bekieve that Cars can FLY......but at high speed.........they sure do.

Dont forget to factor in, that as the board 'increases in surface area- so the weight factor needs to increase exponentially to keep it down.....adding to that the increased speed.

Blah Blah Blah......LOL

Guys - thought this might be of interest to some of you who dont always have someone in tow to shoot photos/video. Not cheep but no doubt the price will come down with time (or other manufacturers will produce).

Always cool pics/video on this thread by the way!!

Got Slash back out at WindanSea for a lunchtime session...

As you can see he is fine...maybe more handsome now that he is a little more rugged.

A surfer mentioned that I made him Native American....I guess I did.

I really didn't ask Slash very many questions during the interview...I needed security for the Divas...he looked the part.

Heck, I do not even know his last name! Oh well, the girls feel safe with him around...I guess thats enough.

We showed up at WindanSea around 1200...am I in the Twilight Zone?

Where the heck is everyone? Nice waves and 4 surfers in the water?

Slash did not waste very much time...he was on!

Glassy waves all over the place.

Learned our lesson yesterday...we'll play away from the ShorePound!

Busted another Big Air from nowhere....gotta pay attention to what I'm doing...want that on demand!

Got some sweet rides in...ran two batteries during the tail end of the sweet spot in tide...we called it a day.

Bigger swell tomorrow! Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks for the Link, Awesome Set up to consider for sure.
Also, any word on our own page from the high up's ?
Maybe they reconsidered, since the tribe seems to be in harmony lately ?

I Can Change That Now ! Lol

Happy Thanksgiving To The Rc Surfer Tribes World Wide !
We all have a lot to be thankful for considering the advancements of our stoke this year.

billybongo....

yes hard to fit a nice batt into the kyosho/nqd unless you enlarge the compartment... difficult on foamy kyosho but many have cut out the nqd compartments.....
Anyway I bought some 3600mah 3s batts from hobbyking that fit andgo well with my 2200kv motor...there was a 5000mah 2s batt thatwould have fit though.... might be worth checking out the latest offerings if you are running a 3000kv motor.
I get good speedand approx 20mins inunder4ft waves... most of the volts are sucked out getting through the whitewash anyway... 2s in yourscould give same resultsmaybe even longer run time with the bigger mah's....... reckon YPC wouldknow moreaboutthat comparo but.

Hey YPC. Your thoughts on the crescent cut-outs sound good... after the mods i've done and thinkin more about them it couldjust be they were put in as an afterthought just to aid self righting... just my opinion but.

Btw NASCAR's are awesome... 350cubic inch naturaly aspirated V8's withover 600hp at 9000revs.... bugger all downforce exept for the banked turnsgets them way loose likea bar of soap running around the bathtub. Rubbing is raceing anda small touch in the tailgetsem spinning and with a bit of air underneath at those speeds yeh they flylike Kites latest airs.

Great vision lately guys..... you are going to be so dissapointed when I get my crapcam happening... LOL.
