Is a 40oz servo enough for steering a nqd . I ordered a traxxas but its to big to dqeeuze between posts. But a micro 2080 would be a easy fit but only 40oz of torque.

Hi enthusiasts
YPC.. nice last vid at Table Bay
darkseacret.. currently using a HS-225BB mighty mini servo with torque rating of approx 54oz... dims of 32 x 17 x 31 working good
also have the smaller 31 x 14 x 28 traxxas 2080 to try some time.. i hear 40oz is enough and they work good but yet to try it out.
btw enthusiasts
due to lack of comments i'm thinkin many rcu members are maybe spending more time at two other forums.
therefore if you want more info check out san clemente based 'rc surf world' or sydney based aus site 'rc surfers worldwide'
there are also many other sites out their dedicated solely to radio controlled surfing too.
when ya keen there just isn't enough info hey so maybe check out the sites even join and ask a question in the general discussion sections
just sayin

Monday Arvi session - fun 2ft face - ( Amps + Time) = STOKE
Some rc Surfers seem stuck on surfing 'Big Surf only'- lol - bit of an irony .. Surfing 1ft face surf can be as much fun as taking on some 6ft face ....there is always some STOKE to be had......in this video I ran a single pack, left over from the previous days session - had 20 odd minutes on my hands between family sport activities - less than average surf conditions - had a few great waves to savour ..Airs - Cut backs - Bottom turns - Rodeo's - Off the lips'- Tail snaps - down the line pumps ....the fun stuff surfing is all about....

With regards to the lack of comments on the many various Production Board rebuilds - I think it is more a case of most past enthusiasts already exhausting all their comments about the many various stages of required modifications and upgrades- on this page - as well as- on the OZ and USA forums....just about every build aspect has been covered several times...and then some.
I'm still amazed at the cost and pains folk go through to get the Production Boards wet ......
What I would like to sea 'more of 'from others ' - is 'more actual surfing video's - with all the convenient /affordable modern video technology available- it is so much easier to capture / edit and publish a surf session..It would be great to sea !...

YPC.... nice last vid in the little waves at cemetery, radio control surfing little unused waves been my trip since day one.
Not sayin that watching the big boys and true enthusiasts doin there thing with pics vids and tech aspects isn't rather inspireing but...!
Am sayin that back in the old days the only way to go radio controlled surfing was to get a 26" production job and mod it... continually... never ending almost... lol
Radio control surfing is a whole lotta fun but hey....

Ive been busy . Epoxied some 3/8s water pick ups and then used some lock tite repair epoxy putty for the flex shaft. Also layed down some deck seal. Custom paint job base coated.

Hey Darkseacter !...enjoying your build progress.....I can feel the buzz ....
I notice that you have your water pick up going to the motor first - then from the motor to the esc - it seems.
It is best to cool the esc first (as it is more susceptible to heat damage) - the motor is quite resilient to heat.
What colours are you going to be finishing the board with ?

The convenience of rc Surfing and yourself being so close to the beach should result in some great surf sessions.....watch out for the ADDICTION - no known cure.
Love your 'ride'- I have a LHD 1996 Ford Explorer XLT - brought in from Marin County CA back in 1997 - My favourite vehicle ever !
Have my latest build under its last clear resin coat...time to fit the hardware...

Enjoyed a cool session (in the baking heat) down at cemetery beach - showing Bro off to a very old legendary surf mate of mine... from years gone by......
Darkseacret - you get a glimpse of my Ford Explorer (Snow Leopard) in the beginning of the vid

Looking G8 DS........ ...cant wait to SEA'' it get wet !
A bit more of the 'same old - same old - 60 plus folk enjoyed Saturdays session.. so far - so I thought it would be good to share Sundays little session as well.. ..Chasing the SUN
Besides !,,the surf had dropped off a touch - but-,,there were a few young local beach kids who had never seen an rc Surfer before and were just so enthralled with it... I so enjoyed the depth and excitement in their laughter..made the session so worth while....SHARING THE STOKE !..
