Default modded nitro vee non controlable

hey guys I have a traxxas nitro vee guted out all the rts and stuck in a o.s .18, mac pipe, octurra x440 prop, larer water pick up etc etc etc...when I get into it it just spins out and it goes to both sides at lowwer speeds its fine just when I wanna get on it it becomes a crap load

I have had this bot for about 2 yrs but ran the pro .15 in before and it handled perfectly fine...
do I need dual spin fins? or trim tabs..

I know I am asking alot out of a traxxas nitro vee haha

I,m having the same problem on a pro boat mini v and the only thing I can figure is the hull and drive mainly drive are the cause of the problem I,ve added turn fin on the right (race set up) and it helped a little and trim tabs would not do much unless on the outer edges of the transom so they contact water in corners best bet switch to surface drive and off set rudder I,m going to try that next myself.

Did you check your COG after you did the mods?

well i have a nitro vee with an os.21,speedmaster hardware, macs pipe, and this thing hauls the mail with NO issues...go to the Unofficial home of the nitro vee thread and you will find your answers there....a coupla ?s for you though, did you change the outdrive? if not ,you need to do so,the xtra oomph will wipe it out in no time,do you have trim tabs? if not , install them,it will help the side-side movement(chine dancin),spin fins are mandatory as this vee will do it at any given moment, all this is explained in the thread along with my build-up,and the issues I encountered and the remedies used to resolve them,my vee runs easily 40mph+ and is pretty darn stable too..... if you used the stock mounting location for your engine, COG is not an issue........

offshore electrics has what you need, nothing elaborate or pricey, but fully functional...look at the combo spin.trim tabs..1 1/2" ithink they run like 5.00 a set... if your runnin the stock outdrive you need to at least replace the plastic u-joints with metal ones..look into the nitro vee site for further info...[:-]
