Yes, got gas cap from Accu-Tech. You'll see it in future pictures as assembly continues. Thanks for the [sm=thumbs_up.gif]

Thank you.... Seen some trick setups on shaft oilers out there but space is getting tight and I will only put one in if she eats the grease quickly. Time will tell

Whew...done.[sm=biggrin.gif] This boat was a blast to build, ready to start her up for the first time tomorrow morning. I will have her in the water as soon as possible and video tape her when she make her maiden voyage.

RE: Expresscraft Thunderbolt build II
Going to definately put some exhaust wrap and high temp silicone to help seal some of the leaks, but other than that she fired up perfectly. Hopefully this link works.....

RE: Expresscraft Thunderbolt build II
Thank you all for comments and support.....its been an absolute pleasure to build and wanted to document the process for future builders of this great boat. Looks like I'll be going to the pond next week to start getting some GPS readings, I will post on this thread the initial results with pics and video. Should have my next project in a day or 2 and will probably start a build thread for her too (Blazer Marine Lauterbach). Been wanting to do a wood retro hydro for some time now.

RE: Expresscraft Thunderbolt build II
Was able to get my boat in the lake the other day. First set up was all wrong, carb needles, strut depth etc. etc.. Got issues adress and she's now starting to push hard. Still got some more to do but happy with performance so far....55-59mph.

RE: Expresscraft Thunderbolt build II
Glad to have helped......I have sold the boat to a great guy in Sacramento area named Paul and looking forward to seeing it one day. Great boat that was fast, handled chop well and was just cool looking. She was always the crowd pleaser every where I went. [sm=shades_smile.gif]

RE: Expresscraft Thunderbolt build II
just wanted to add to this very nice thread on our boat, with todays new power plants, and us destroying a fiberglass thunderbolt in 6 weeks with a s-520 at 80 mph, we decided to build our boats out of carbon fiber now,we had great feedback over the years of making fiberglass boats it was time to make these updates, today 60 mph is a very doable speed with the 29cczenoha,the k-30 rcmk and quickdraws new pioneer, i do not think fiberglass will cut it any longer.we did not increase the price of our boats, and they are really rock solid, we do the deck and hull with gelcoat, one layer of 1 1/2 oz fiberglass mat and one layer of 5.8 oz carbon fiber twill, when this is joined we use one more layer of mat and cover that with one layer of carbon, adding material to stiffen our boats is not needed any longer, our decks are stronger then most boat hulls,
