Default Outdrive trim angle?

I have a Traxxas Villain and I am trying to tune the boat’s trim angle. It seems when I put the outdrives all the way up as high as possible the front of boat bounces horribly. If I put them all the way down the front still bounced a little at top speed, but not anywhere near what it did with them up. All the way down is great, but I heard that it causes to boat to plow into the water and reduce speed. Should I keep them all the way down or just put them in the middle?

Default Outdrive trim angle?

I think common sense needs to come into play at some point here. I think if you re-read your post, you'd find that you answered your own question. just like most things, adjustments should be made gradually, not all the to one side or the other.

If I were you, I'd start all the way down (since it seems that's where it's closer to where you'd like it) and trim it a bit (read: little bit). Run the boat. Not happy yet? Trim it up a bit more. Run the boat. How 'bout now? Trial and error my friend, trial and error.

Did I mention error? There will be a few of those too!!
