well, I thought I was done with rc. But we know someone with a huge pond, and my daughter has become obsessed with boats, especially hydros and offshores. I like cats and gator boats, but what do I know,lol.
So she wants me to help her build and run boats. But I am on disability and have no means to get her anything. The only thing I have worth anything is a bass from when I used to be a musician. I have been trying to sell that to fund the pink powerboat project. But noone wants it. So that brings me to you guys. I am, sorry for being a mooch, and I am sorry for asking for help, but I really want to be able to do this with her.
We have NO rc stuff. If any of you have ANYTHING in your stash....leftover parts, hardware, junk parts, a busted hull, ANYTHING you can spare....every little bit helps. Anything you want to donate or sell super cheap will be put to good use and will be greatly appreciated.

I think if you were to be more specific about the size/type of boat it'd be easier to help you. I have parts etc - even a boat rigger hull I wont be using next year (wanted to build a 2nd one). I for one dont want to send off a bunch of say .21 parts to a guy who ends up putting together a gas or F size boat. I hope you see my point.

Thanks tech. I completely understand. Basically at this point, we can't say what we will build. If we get something .21 size or parts, that's what we will build. I know she is really liking hydros and offshores. My first choice is electric power because its the only thing I have experience with (cars). As far as size, she wants to build a "big pink powerboat" lol.

I liked the video too, thought it was a sweet looking boat.
After watching it again though, odessa decided "not enough pink" lol
She is going to have me do a two tone hot pink metal flake and cranberry. She hasn't picked a pattern yet

So what parts have you got so far (for what size/type boat)?

I'd be willing to give you my .12 rigger (you'd pay shipping - I'm in MN). There are pics of it in the JAP/JAE threads (its green so you'd need to sand & repaint) ) and there are a couple videos on youtube of my breaking it in and eventually getting it running pretty good.

But I'm keeping most of the engine/hardware/servos for the .12 rigger I'm building this winter.

if you could post some updates as to what parts you have and from who (perhaps a list that could be updated as it comes together) it will help us all see what more you may need (as well as letting those who have generously sent parts know you have them too).

Nice to see the guys stepping up with parts for a new boater

I do hope you will post some pics of the boat along with the proud new owner.

It is great to see everyone stepping up. And I plan on making a build thread once the build starts with lots of pics and special thanks to all the contributors.
As far as this thread, let's kind of put it on hold. So far we have nothing, but there are a few people that are going to send some things.
Once those things get here, I will update this thread with what was sent and who sent it and what the general plans are at that point. How'd that be

If you want to end me any hull you get I can custom paint it for ya. I do helicopters as the main business but I have painted several boats. If you want to send it to me I can hook you up with a cool paint job. Also let me know what else you need I have spare parts you can have

How old is your daughter ??  My daughter is 20 and has a pink 50" gas Viper so I know where you are coming from - we all run large scale gas and my daughter just had to have a pink boat
