I am new to boats and I have a Kyosho geared drive speed boat and I am yet to get it into the water but wondered if the hole in the tube around the prop shaft is for inserting grease, oil, or any sort of lubricant for regular use?
Thanks for any feedback.

Without seeing the tube, we're all just going to be guessing. I would probably have to say that is what it's for, adding grease or oil to lube the shaft.

Boy, you've got an oldie there!
The Kyosho boats have a large stuffing tube which the driveshaft goes though. It should be bushing supported at each end. Yes, the hole at the top of the tube is for oiling the bushings although not much may get to the upper one. As far as oil goes, just about anything that you can get in there should work but at least motor oil weight.

Thanks Ron Olson,
Very helpful info. Yes it was given to me by a friend, and looks in pretty good nick despite its age.
Cheers
