Hi everybody

I have scratchbuilt a wooden hull for a rc boat. I would like to know how to fill the gaps inbetween the wood and how to seal and waterproof the wood. Would wood filler be OK?

I've used wood filler and spackling compound to fill gaps. To seal a hull, use a slow setting epoxy and after you put it on, wipe it off with a paper towel. I tried it after seeing it on another site and it works! A lot smoother and lighter finish. If you want to get trick, get some pigment and mix in and you will save yourself the trouble of painting it later.

Is there any alternative to epoxy? I dont really have access to that.

How about covering all the wood with tissue paper and either wood filler or clear dope then paint when it is dry?
