Default Grampa needs help

I purchased a RC car for my grandsons about 4years ago. Up until this time it has operated very well. It has started to only run very short run times, like about 3-4 min., I bought new batteries, but that didn't seem to help. It mostly run on blacktop, but sometimes on gravel roads. Could the motor brushes be worn or dirty? Any help would be appreciated, on where to start to find the problem. Thanks.

Like John said, check th brushes first. Replacing them are a lot cheaper than replacing the motor.

If the motor is a sealed motor, you may have to replace it.
