Default Throttle trim problem?

My son's older Traxxas Stampede suddenly developed a problem. When the power is turned on, it starts rolling backwards, no matter how much we adjust the throttle trim. What could the problem be? Any ideas? It's definitely not getting interference from another radio, as this is the only one on and in the area.

Thanks for any help.

Greg

Try reprogramming your ESC.

This is an older Stampede, back before Ithink they came with programmable ESCs. At least, there are no buttons on the ESCor anything, so I'm guessing that means there's no programming. If this needs a new ESC, what's the cheapest one that would do the job? Don't want to put too much money into this old R/C, rather than just saving up for a new one that is waterproof, faster, etc.

Thanks

Greg

Is there a 30/70-50/50 button on the transmitter? Maybe this have been accidently pushed so it doesn't stay on the 50/50-mark.

Yup that could be it. And if you want a new power system, check out the 60A EZ-Run brushless system from Hobbypartz.com. It's like 80 bucks shipped and is far faster than the little old brushed stuff you have.

Bingo. Had been flipped to 70/30. Never really realized what that switch was all about. Now Iguess I do. Duh.

Thanks for the tip on the cheap brushless system, too.

Cheers

Just curious, does your old stampede have the old mechanical speed control ?
cause I think even the old xl-1 has a setup button.
