Default Blending diff lube

Is there any reason why I should not blend different weight diff lubes ? i.e. blend equal portions of 10,000 and 5,000 weight to get 7,500 weight lube. Obvious the lube will need to be of the same type (silicon, mineral etc.). I live in a remote area and don't have a LHS that carries a range of different weight lubes
