I just got a Kyosho Inferno MP 5 in a trade. I have really wanted a buggy for some time but my thing is will the repartment parts be to hard to find. Is it worth fixing up? Or should I try to sell it and get a new Inferno MP 7.5 Sport or Kanai edition II. Please help me out. Let me know what you think.

I had a MP-5 not to long ago, every single part for it is available through Tower or acehardware hobbies. Also, the MP-5 and MP-6 are interchangable for 99% of their parts.

I'd fix that MP5 up with MP6 and MP5 parts, and shelf it, it's becoming a real collectors and will get difficult to get parts for it if tinigs break. I've been looking for an MP5 to collect but haven't bothered looking for a while. It's a classic buggy.

im not big into collecting, and if thets where this buggy is heading, id say hock it on ebay.
nothing is worse than having somethign that you have to spend lots of time trying to get parts for.
you have to look at it this way,(if people have parts now) ho much longer will they have them? im sure kyosho will stop making parts for them and what left will be all you will be able to get your hands on.
no way i would invest in a buggy to put it on the shelf.id buy a model for that.

My HODR is pretty old (95-96), yet MBX parts are usable on it so it's a car I can still drive today, you can still drive the MP5 with MP6 replacement parts for so long (about a couple more years I'd say). If I had gotten the Turbo Burns a decade ago which I almost did, I wouldn't drive it today incase something broke. My father has some vintage collectable cars and he took out his Mauri Ninja to the track and it broke, bad mistake since he can't get parts for it.

I wonder how many people are kicking theirselves for bashing their Hi Luxes & Mountaineers. They can go for about $1,500 NIB on ebay these days. A lot of people still run them but if I had one, I'd try to dust it regularly then sell it in 10 or 20 years.
