Default How much is the prize $$$

I'm curious how big the prize money would be for winning a big RC truck race or a road car race?
Other then free swag and cars\trucks are the top racers well compensated?

Top racers are generally compensated by the vendors they represent. Money races are usually attended by us poor people.

A crappy little trophy and some bragging rights. The top racers spend more than they win... traveling around the world to race rc cars is definably a wealthy mans hobby.

Depends. Being sponsored is totally different than being pro. Pro of course being short for professional means you get paid to do a job for a living. Sponsorship is repping a company in exchange for discounts and goods.

For example Tamiya gives 'enter famous driver here' a car. In return Tamiya gets brand recognition.

Pro is being an expert in a certain field and getting paid for it.

That being said sponsorship pays nothing and a being a pro pays a salary. Probably not a bad one either.

The "pro" drivers collect a pay check from the comapnies they race for. Most of them do something for the comapny other than drive. Weather it's promotions or research and development. Years back, most of the guys that raced on weekends were engineers Monday through Friday.

The actual races don't pay anythng except a trophy and your pic in a mag.
