I still have the perfect condition chassis from my very first RC truck. Which was the Traxxas Stampede. I don't have any of the electronics from it anymore besides the old ESC.
I'm planning on putting a brushless system on it and making it almost completely custom. I'm on a small budget. I want to use a Tacon brushless motor with a Mamba Max ESC. Would that be possible? (I'm still pretty new to the hobby)

well, yes, that would work. however, [link=http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=sidewinder+sct&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_ pw.&biw=1366&bih=667&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=17590148068697866734&sa=X&ei=3AcZTv yzHdO40AHl2tCWBQ&ved=0CE8Q8wIwAA]this[/link]this combo is only like 0-20 bucks more (depending on which Tacon motor you had in mind) and it will offer much better performance and still the Castle quality: motor and ESC. so yeah i would go with that. it'll work great it that Stampede, just make sure you have all metal transmission or you'll blow the gears within a few minutes of running with the SCT system.
