Default 540 in a 1/8 Kyo bike???

No way. It comes with a 180. Albeit a round one, called DM20. Or DM 20 BB if you really go for it :-)

It uses the same cute CPR unit found in the old Tamtech, but the version intended for the bike has the reverse swapped for a brake. Thank god...

Two of my friends has one, and to answer the speed question... Not particularly fast, but they're great fun!

Nope. I have no way of knowing for sure, but with the hop-up motor mentioned by Karl it MIGHT hit 18-20mph. I've got two of them and love 'em both, but they definately show their age when running. Also, they do not steer like a car-you must plan your turns well in advance, and even then it's still a bit tricky.
Let us know if you purchase the Thunder tiger....I've been curious about that one myself

Default I'm on thin ice here,

but I think it might not reach the aforementioned speeds. Swap the MPH with KMH and perhaps it does...

I've only seen it run with the standard motor and the smallest pinion. It was SLOW. But great fun!

I have a Kyosho bike and llike everyone says there are a ton of fun. Kinda like the helicopter of surface R/C. Takes alot of practice to really be able to drive it. I put the 28BB motor into mine, and I would say it hits 19 or 20. With it being so small it looks like it's going 80!!

I say go for it, get one

Default RE: Kyosho 1/8 hor motorcycle worth it or not

Well I got my FM-1e TT bike and it is SWEET!! MUCH harder to drive than the Kyosho bike. If your thinking of getting one, DO IT!! You won't regret it.
