Default thinking of getting a ECX

I want a cheap SCT truck.

The torment looks pretty tough, and seems to get pretty good reviews.

The stock motor is fairly slow tho.....

And i would prefer a waterproof truck.

So, im thinking this: I have a XL-5 ESC, and a flysky Rx. So i buy the torment @ $160, then sell the Tx and Rx for $50 and the ESC/motor for $35. Then buy a 12t 550 motor. That works out to $105 or $110 for a mostly new truck that will have a waterproof ESC and a 12t 550 motor.

Also, i dont care for the titan 12t 550...i have had too many of them burn up quickly. but i want a comparable motor. Losi has a 12t 550 right? Is it decent?

Thoughts on my plan? Is the stock TX and RX worth $50 if i sell it on ebay?

Its the only ECX truck i would by right now. We get the Circuit and Ruckus returned all the time with bad Receivers, etc. Gonna stop selling them. The torment is nice though. The 2.4 setup makes it better. I wouldnt switch the ESC/motor if it was me. It is descent with what it has. If you are going to sell the stock, go brushless. Dont waste your time/money on the XL5/titan combo.

well i already have the XL5 esc and i didnt want to go brushless cause i wanna race against my buddy and his slash xl5. He has a small backyard track, and a brushless isnt really any faster on the track that brushed cause you cant use the extra power.
