Default removing paint from polycarbonate/lexan bodies

using dot 4 brake fluid is by far the easiest and quickest way to remove paint from your polycarbonate/lexan body just pour and leave for 10 mins then wipe and keep repeating its that simple dot 3 dot 5 will not work

depending on the paint used I use plain ole rubbing alcohol to get off parma paints, pour it on a paper towel put the towel on the paint, and wait a min good chunk will wipe off easily. Bonus to the rubbing alcohol is the residue can be washed off with a little water, where the DOT 3 I hear the residue you can't remove.

ok Dot 4 sorry I never did the method due to the residue that I read is left, and how I don't have brake fluid laying around. Few I did like I said rubbing alcohol worked great in stripping the paint.

Yes, but it takes a very long time and a lot of elbow grease.

anyone ever had a bad batch of paint?

rattled the can for a full minute, applied LIGHT coats of paint a few minutes apart. let them sit, i come back 6hours later and the paint shrunk and peeled and etched the body!

ruined a discontinued irreplacible body!!! it actually MELTED the body! and yes this was lexan paint.

I flip mine over backwards at 70mph and let er drag on the roof for a 100 yards, takes the paint right off! A bit hard on the lexan though I may add......

It was probably not a Lexan body. Some early bodies were a type of acrylic, which is easily damaged by some paints.

I use nail polish remover... It works great and doesn't leave it cloudy.

What's in your nail polish remover? Here in the USA, most polish remover is acetone which will eat the plastic.
