I have kind of been wanting another buggy to bash with and probably take the place of my jato. I bought this buggy as a roller off a guy on rc tech. Its somewhat of an older buggy, a Sportwerks Mayhem Pro, which is a Losi product. They are somewhat outdated and discontinued now, but parts can still be found easily and the pro version is a pretty heavy built buggy with the heavy towers, etc... The differentials are the same thing found in the Losi XXL, and the whole unit and casing is a direct swap, so those will be around a long time. I got a lot of spares with the buggy as well. A whole set of arms, some hubs, driveshafts, an extra chassis, and some other things. I bought some of the badlands knock off wheels and tires for it off of ebay. Threw in a T-Pro MG servo i had for the steering, and put my Axial .28 in it. I am waiting on the throttle/brake linkage to come in and a 16t clutch bell as well, but i have ran it some (with no brakes) and it runs great, its just under geared with the 13t clutch bell. The body is ok, but the paint job is not to great and its a little bent on the exhaust side.
Anyways, I have $70 in it, plus the wheels, and my radio gear and engine I had already, so It should make a heck of a cheap basher

Yeah its a little heavy. Dont think its as bad as the XTM XT2 I had though. haha Anyways, for bashing it should be great. I had one identical to this before and the only thing I ever broke was a front a-arm when the throttle hung open because of a loss of signal, which sent it wide open through a field and into a fence post [&:]
Its used, but in real good shape. Nothing was bent or broken. The guy i bought it from never ran it. Said it sat for a couple years. He bought it from his buddy that he said would buy stuff new, and then sell it off. So, I assume it must not have been run a lot. I got enough spare parts to probably keep me going for a long time

Well its been nasty here, but still been running the buggy a little. The Axial .28 engine has over 10 gallons of fuel through it now. It has been in my savage all its life until now. When I pulled it out it was filthy nasty and the last time it was sealed was during the break in process. So I cleaned it with simple green, pulled the carb and dissasembled it and cleaned it all up and resealed all the needles before I put it in the buggy. But I also decided to check it for air leaks because the tune had been a little finicky for the last little bit. I put it down into some water with everything sealed and then blew through the fuel line. Front bearing was leaking like crazy
So I bought a new bearing for $6 shipped off of ebay and I had been running it with the leaky bearing in the buggy until tonight. The bearing came in today and I tore it down and got it installed tonight. Went out to run and had to lean the LSN quite a bit and it seems to be running great [8D] Idled perfectly and never died on me and the engine seemed to be responding well to needle changes.
I also got the correct throttle/brake linkage in and put on the buggy. Its nice to have brakes!
Now all thats really left is to wait on my 16t clutch bell. The 13t bell Id have to estimate gets it to around 35mph, but its hard to say. The Axial is a torquey engine, but not a high revving one, so the 16t bell should really bring it to life and gain a lot of top end I hope.
Edit. Just ran the gearing calculations
46/13 (current) gearing says it should go 38mph at 30,000rpm
46/16 gearing should bump it up to 46mph@30,000rpm which should be a little more fun. 8mph faster
I might should have went with a 17t bell, but I wanted a lot of bottom end pull so i didnt want to go too far, although id say it would have been fine. The 17t bell would put it at 49.3mph@30,000rpm.
