I would like to get my first nitro that runs. I have plenty of driving electic experience and own quite a few. However, my friends all have nitros and I have to wait to recharge batteries while they just refuel. I'm not getting rid of my electrics, but just want to get a nitro. I have an old nitro rustler that doesn't have an engine and might gdt that running. I would like to first buy a new one though, so I know everything is there. I am looking at either the JATO or the Slayer, maybe a stampede depending on how they handle corners. Any suggestions as what I should do?
EDIT: I will be willing to rebuild my old rustler. It had a OS max Cv-r engine when I got it, howver the the connecting rod was in tiny pieces also, so I don't know if it will run if I get a new engine for it

ofna 1/8th scale buggies are probabl the best band for the buck. They cost around $300, and honestly can take a royal beating
Jammin X1x CR from amainhobbies.com is $300
Ofna Hyper 7 TQ Black is $299 from towerhobbies
not sure if they are in stock though last time I looked they both were outta stock
As for the rustler it should run if you get a new engine assuming nothing else is broken that is.

I'm gonna fix my rustler, as then I can get several others running for the price of a new one. However, I can't find anything to say whether it is a pro .15 or a TRX 2.5 and I don't exactly know what to look for on it to tell. I'll get pics of it up soon so someone can help. Maybe say what all is missing? I guess it ran and then the pull starter broke, and that was replaced, but then the engine just siezed, then it was given to me. I tore it apart to see what happened and the connecting rod was destroyed into many pieces. This was like 2 years ago, and now i have found some of the parts for the old engine, but not all.
