Default a rant about exceed

Now, anytime I see someone ask about an exceed model....if there is a version of it sold by Redcat I always suggest going with the redcat.
This is partly because I know they have good warrenty, support and that they support well with parts.
Its also cause I own several and thus am partial to them

But I have an exceed mad torque 1/8 crawler. I have to say, its a heck of a sweet truck. I got mine used, for under $100 which made it even better, but even the new price is very affordable.

However, today I broke a steering hub. No biggie, I figured Id go onto nitrorcx and order one. Guess what, out of stock.

Now, on redcat's site sometimes parts are out of stock as well. But then you can go onto one of many private dealer sites, or onto ebay and find that part.

But exceed, so far as I can tell, has no other online dealers.

I messaged nitrorcx and was told the part would be restocked in 2-3 weeks! [:@]

Why isnt there other places online to buy exceed stuff? Why dont they have a dealer network like redcat does? This is exactly the reason I have many times NOT bought stuff off or nitrorcx, that and the fear of them not backing their stuff with a warrenty like redcat.

Granted, if you bought one of exceed's models that is a version of a redcat then you can always find parts (tho parts #'s will differ between brands and that can make it tricky to find what you need) but with the 1/8 crawlers....they are only sold by exceed. No one else sells a "version" of them.

Its a shame to. I wish redcat had the mad torque and mad stone....as they are just as good as the rockslide 1/8...but cost less. Granted, they dont come with 4 wheel steer, but the torque looks better and has better tires IMO.

Anyway, rant pretty much over. Exceed, if you are the only distributer of a model, you HAVE to keep parts in stock!

kinda the issue with the nitrorcx, and its sister sites like hobbypartz, xheli.com, and nitroplanes.com (They all are owned by raidentech, as their mailing address's are all identical). The stuff they sell its usually not carried anywhere else (outside the Hobbywing stuff), and when they are out of stock it might take months for them to get it back in stock.

Like a helicopter I bought on last years black friday(or maybe the monday after I forgot not that its important) worked great till it crashed, and lost a stupid part off the blades that stabilized em. Found the part number, but the only place I could find that stocked parts for the heli was guess who xheli.com, and that part wasn't even in their list of what they sold. Went through every part for that heli they carried(which were not many at all) and couldn't locate it.

I feel your pain, must be very frustrating, I have been tempted over the years to buy an exceed vehicle (mad beast,) but in the end I would rather spend a little extra and stay mainstream. I am getting a mad force for Christmas and it looks as it will be a vehicle that no one stocks parts for. It will be all online for the mad force. Wish me luck.

yep, mad beast is another one. Looks like a poor man's savage. But only exceed/nitrorcx has it.

which one is the mad force?

anyone else think they have gone alittle to far with the mad "blank" names?

Again, its really a shame with the crawler because its actually very good. I mean, a RTR 1/8 crawler with decent electronics, good tires and a capable driveline for under $200 is impressive.

Of course, ive taken my mad torque and made it into a 1/5 scaler

Actually, the mad force is made by Kyosho. It was originally the nitro version(twin force being the electric version), but within the last couple of years, they released a brushless version called the Madforce Kruiser.
