You bought a basket of hyper 7 and hyper 7 ss? Im confused. What is the question? What is the difference between the ss and the tq?

I don't see a lot of difference.

17mm big bore shocks, tq has 14 mm
exact same engine the macstar. 28
same looking tires and wheels
slightly larger fuel tank


The problem is that I don't see any parts available for it yet. Everything is Order Pending, because HPI hasn't gotten dealers the HoBao parts yet. So essentially, its a little lighter I suppose to be race ready but you can't race the .28 in the usual classes, have to go down to a .21. The price difference is about 50 bucks between the two cars. Its sharp looking. I would buy one if there were more discernable differences.

now the TQ yea the parts would be the same

There are two types of tq parts though, pre 2012 and 2012 and thereafter, there are slight differences to the a arms and the battery/receiver boxes also. Oh and the shock towers are different too. One site I use has parts for both versions. SyCo is right, if you get the SS you will have to wait on HPI to get the HoBao parts out to distributors because ofna didn't market the SS.

There were slight variations in the names, the tq sport, tq black, just tq and they just kept making minor improvements.

That's a good question. I don't know if they are. The shock towers are shaped differently but im not sure if all the holes align the same. The arms don't look much different but I have never inquired if they will fit on the older models. The bodies don't fit. When they changed it to the 2012 model they used a different shape and placement for the air filter and the new bodies don't fit the original round air filter with s curve intake tube. The receiver box is moved as well so the wire and tube hole is in a different location. Shocks are interchangeable, diffs are the same, brakes changed too, not sure if they fit the same either. I have 2 pre 2012 models so I buy parts whenever I find them cheap on ebay incase I can't get any in the future.

Over here the pre 2012 is the Hyper7 TQ and post 2012 is the Hyper7 TQ2.
