Not to sound stupid.. but what are Tower codes?

I deal with the distro's so i dont even bother shopping. I just order it myself and skip the towers thing all together.

I was asking what they where for.... Not the codes itself.

I took the time and money to open a hobby shop and provide a hobby outlet to people. Does this make me better then you? No it dont. Does this mean I know EVERYTHING there is to know about the hobby? NO it dont.

I freely offer suggestions or possible answers to questions posted here without prejudice. Whats obvious to some may be Greek to another. I may

The tower codes are simply a way for tower hobbies to give a price break or free item if you spend x amount of dollars. They are on their website.
They have a few rules for use and they dont like people spreading codes they have apparantly scared atleast one board if the board did not remove and forbid the codes they may take action.(I wont tell which)

There are some codes that you get if you sign up for thier member package that other nonmembers dont get.

If you need more info go to tower hobbies web site.

They are referring to discount codes for purchases.

Tower Hobbies Publishes codes (found in their main catalog, a tower talk magazine or on their website) that work like a coupon. An example would be code # 12344DF (made that up, not a real code) that would get you $15.00 off of an order of $125.00. They are usually worth about a 10% discount, but on occassion you can find a really good one for around 20%, all though it has been a while since I have seen one of those.

Also are you paying for ad space on this board? because having your company web address in you signiture is a no no, isn't it?? The RCU police will come down on ya

I have been a Tower Customer for something like 5 years or more, In that time I have never heard of any SECRET codes.

They have discounts based on dollar amount that they run from time to time, these are always posted right on the main page of the website.

As for the codes that are not shown on the main page, those are sent out through the mail and contain coupons and such.
Those are for members only.

Im still amazed that people come on here asking for "codes", get with the program and join the club..its cheap and you will get the coupons and discounts.

Actually, they aren't always "just for members".

One of the best deals I got from them was when I didn't order anything from them for about two years. They sent some great deals. It also happened to a friend of mine (and no, he wasn't a "tower member")

Wow you're right,, I nevr noticed that

If Your Order Totals: YOU SAVE Refer to Ad#

$75.00 - $149.99 $5.00 010D3
$150.00 - $199.99 $10.00 010D4
$200.00 - $249.99 $15.00 010D5
$250.00 - $299.99 $20.00 010D6
$300.00 or more $25.00 010D7

Since it's on there site I guess they won't sue me

I'm not a "Member", but I am on the "Tower Talk" mailing list and it says nowhere in the mag to not share with friends. As a matter of fact it says to get togethr with friends and save.
If you buy something from them you'll get this flyer for years to follow, I think the last time I bought something was over 2 years ago and I get a flyer from the at least once every two months if not every month.

They do have different "Member only" savings from time to time, free shipping etc. a good deal if you buy from them often.

Tower prices are pretty good compaired to LHS prices, but if you shop around the web you can find even better deals

Enough talk ,,, lets Race

OK last winter this was a big deal at another board about Tower codes and it got out of hand. Some of towers codes are meant for one time use and others are just a price break.

I was a tower member long ago(like when the net was just starting) but since it ticked me off that anyone on the net could get to the great deals while not being a member I never renewed. As a memeber you would get a list of stuff (among other things) that is marked down for whatever reason and there was some good deals but later on anyone on the net could get them which was lame and made membership useless. Now I see that there are some items on discount that require you to be a member.(DUH it looks like tower has found out why most people were not paying to be members)
I know there is a code for an additional $5.00 off and a code for a tool set and I'm sure there are others but I dont follow what tower hobbies does that close.
