Mamba monster extreme from xo1
is there any reason NOT to run the monster extreme esc -- and even motor in a revo or truggy? thanks. oh, on 6s.....

Well, considering a 1515Y on 6S is MORE than enough to tear even the best truggy to pieces, you only have the durability to think about. There's no reason not to, apart from weight of the motor, it's going to make the car handle heavy. Personally, I wouldn't do it, it's just too much overkill (if you believe in such things 
). I run my Xray truggy on 6S on a MMM 2200kv 1515y combo and it's way more power than anyone can handle, plus my truck will break sooner or later, there's no getting away from it.

yeah! I guess I was thinking more about the esc. but you need their tqi radio tx and rx to unlock it. kind of dampens my enthusiasm. thank you for your reply foxy.

I'm sure there are hacks to solve the 'unlock' issue, I simply haven't heard them as I haven't owned that equipment. If I find anything without too much searching, I'll post it for you.
Hm, a quick read did not reveal anything worthwhile, except using an iphone or ipod just once to do the unlock, after which it stays unlocked, from what I can tell. Seems like the Traxxas link is indeed needed, at least once.

Added above...nothing found from a cursory search, except that the unlock is possibly a one time event. Therefore, perhaps you could borrow the infrastructure from a Traxxas owner just to do the unlock, then you shouldn't need it again.
