Default Worn downed hpi apache

So I got a good deal on a hpi apache. Its pretty worn out as you can see I don't think its been taken good care of. Just wondering what you guys would do to fix it up a bit? It seems like the antenna is cut off and the ESC is just ziptied on. Most of the screws is also a bit rusted.

I plan on taking it apart cleaning it put some new oil in diff, anything else i should do?

Well, I have more than one rc car with the esc zip tied on. And I think that is probably the correct length for the rx antenna, the 2.4 radios have short antennas. But it does look like it was driven hard and put away wet. A good cleaning will certainly improve looks. How does it run, that would dictate what to do to it.

Don't have to much experience with brushless but it seemed to run good. After the battery went out I put them on the charger for storage charging and they showed around 5 volts wich is way to low for a 2cell lipo isnt it? I charged them up to 7,4v.

Way too low. You need to charge them up to 8.4 volts!! Doing otherwise will cause fires!!

When I put them on storage charging, one battery charged to 7.6v the other 7.8v. Is this normal?

Yes. 3.8 to 3.9 per cell for storage mode.

Something else is wrong with it, in mid driving it looses connection with the radio for a sec, is the receiver gone bad maybe?

are you using the batteries in storage mode or giving them a full charge prior to use? Just ruling out the easiest things first.
Do you have a different rx and/or tx to try?

I have a hpi tf 40 that I tryed to bind unsuccesfull. The receiver also makes a loud electronic noise when its on. Don't know if this is normal.

It uses 2 lipo batteries, when I connect the second one it gives of a spark, am I doing something wrong here?

No, the spark is right. Not sure about the receiver, though.
