Default Looking for new engine

I have been looking for a new engine for my truck. I know some of the nicer engines out there. I am not looking to spend 3 to 5 hundred. I did how ever find a OS for a decent price. I am wondering which engines are worth buying that will last for some time. I am looking for a .21 engine for around 1 to 2 hundred. The better engine for the cheapest price is what I'm going for, but I;m not sure which ones I should be looking for. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance!

Dynamite is good or if you find a 3 or 6 port SH engine. Dynamite, XTM, LRP, Losi, and others are literally rebadged SH Engines. I've got two SH based engines right now and love them. Always start, run well, and are powerful. Good budget engines IMHO.

I decided to go with the Mach .26 since it will be in a 1/10 truck. What type of clutch are you using with your Dynamite? I have been looking online for one and cant find one specific for this engine. I even asked my local hobby shop if you can use a different clutch that isn't specific to this engine, and he told me they have to be engine specific. Was I fed a line of doo doo?

Being a big block engine, just about any flywheel for a 1/8th scale monster truck or buggy should work fine. Big block engines typically have a bigger crankshaft than small block engines so the flywheels sometimes won't fit when going from a small block to a big block. One other thing to note - the big block engines (.21 and larger) have a different bolt pattern and block size so a small block mount typically won't work.

Dually noted about the bolt pattern. I will make it work. Im sure I can mod the chassis a bit if need be. Thank you for letting me know about the flywheel. I should be all set since I have one.
