Hello everyone, I was wondering, has anyone used a RC plane or Heli esc in a rc car? What I'm building will have 4 motors and 4 escs, I don't need brakes or reverse just forward, and no servos. My motors are also 16s capable and I don't want to underpower them with 12s. I have seen many 14s and above plane and heli escs. thanks for any input.

IMO there is a high likelihood they will burn up.
Tried it once 12ish years ago, and the ESC started leaving out the magic smoke after 5-10 seconds from what I recall. It was on 2s only so it wasn't some high end ESC(think the ESC was 4S capable) on a onroad motor. Main reason I experimented with it was the plane ESC was something like $40 cheaper then a similar onroad ESC, and figured if it worked I'd save money.

Thanks for the replies. The plane/Heli esc was just an idea. I saw a video on YouTube a guy from Europe put 2 XLX2s and 2 800kv motors on a go-kart and it worked with proper gearing. Well I'm kinda doing the same but with more power and a bigger go-kart. I have (4) TP 5870s 15kw motors and my options as of now are 4 Mad Components 21 or 4 XC car 16s 1/4 scale car escs both I've read good reviews and they are extremely powerful. Im talking 60kw plus of power. Im am aware that there are motors and controllers that are for this purpose but this setup will be lighter and more powerful. The frame will be all custom made of fiberglass and carbon fiber composites
This is not for drifting, bashing, wheelies, burning runner or jumping hills or ramps, just cruising. With proper gearing and amp draw control it should work fine with large scale Rc car escs.
