Anyone know if this thing kicks ass. By looking at it, i think it would be a blast to haul ass around my yard and just beat the snot out of it. also how fast do u think it would go if i put a tuned pipe on it etc..and if i could hop it up in any way

i wouldn't reccomend duratrax. I have heard that they have ok products, but you will not be able to find parts except by mail order, and as i have learned from the past week, if you have a good dealer who can provide parts and service as well as tuning an maintenance tips, it makes all the difference.

Maybe in bethesda you can't find parts, but where I live the Duratrax parts are plenty.
My first truck was the Max ST and my buddy has one too. The only difference between the ST and the MT is the A-arm length and shock length/thickness and slightly larger tires.
I have been through many trucks since then but while I had it it was indistructable. I beat the snot out of it. My buddy still does. It'll do 40 with the 2 speed on it, no problem. If I don't tune my Rustler right he blows me away. (But that seldom happens)
If you are just beating around the yard...I would say go ahead and get one. It's not a racer by any means, but not crap like some people say. It's a great truck and for my first truck it was great for learning.
But, for about 50$ you can get a Rustler or XXXnt, which are both better and able to be raced. More rugged and a bit faster, with better customer support. Traxxas support is the best I have found.
