Default anyone modify a CVEC?

so far,I've determined this pipe is horrible and have started modding it and was just curious if anyone else has either.I took the piston OUT...free flow now but I haven't run it like that yet so we'll see what happens.I've also kinda figured out a way to mount the pipe in the rear and run rear exhaust to make it look more real,I'm going to remove,or plug the stock dual stingers and go for a single one anout 20% larger in I.D. than both the stock ones together.Once again, better flow. This will look like a real import exhaust and probably be pretty loud,I just don't know what it will do to my fuel pressure.I've also stripped the horrible silver powdercoating off and started polishing it and it looks alot better.Any ideas are welcome,if it doesn't work,oh well...I'll get the THS cuz thats where its headed anyway.

That little piston is in that thing for a reason.... Back pressure. Adjustable to boot. Did you try all the settings available to you with that pipe?

Maybe you would have done better with a different pipe more suited to your needs. The CVEC was !QUOT!tuned!QUOT! for a certain application... If it did not do what you wanted, Id take a better look at the PIPE you would need to have.

Adding ANY type of hose, even if its them kool exhaust deflectors, will change the attitude and performance of the pipe.

i noticed that. adding deflectors. too quiet and less power.

I understand why the piston is in there..thier theory is when properly tuned the pipe will have more consistent backpressure and will never load up.I either can't tune the engine right (never had a problem till this pipe) or the pipe is not what I need like you said. However,I already have it so I'm going to modify it...I don't see how it could get any worse at this point.I tried all the settings and eventually broke the little bending pin that holds it in,I've read the tuning instructions and followed them and have given it quite a chance for a couple months but its time is over.I could get it running great, then 3 minutes later it would be sluggish and close to dying..making my head temp really erratic too. After I get the single stinger in I'll seal the 2 halves with some Permatex so it doesn't leak everywhere and mount it and try to get some pics up.
