RE: late night custom fabs
i haven't invented anything. i've done some custom crap. i have a rusty 2.5 and i added dual shocks, moved the ez start to where it comes out the top of the body, i made my own rear aluminum skid plate. i broke a shock tower once and used a graphite one from a 10 year old RC 10T so i could keep driving one night. i don't know... i just wanted to hear about cool stuff people didn't when there wasn't just the right part so they made their own.

I met some guy from Arizona at the 1/4 scale Supernationals (asphalt oval) who makes his own 1/10 scale outlaw cars (dirt oval). The outlaw looked pretty sharp but the only reason I bring it up was because he used a T-Maxx 2.5 electric start type set-up that came out the side of the body. The thing is that someone else and me were just talking about doing the same thing the night before to another type of vehicle and your post reminded me of it as well.
Hey, I blew up a 400 ci engine once and replaced it with a 455 ci engine. That required new engine mounts and brackets which were custom made. And since I tossed the A/C setup in the trunk, I used the vents for additional gauges. No, the A/C didn't work but the insurance adjuster didn't quite know what to think when I told him the car still had A/C.

I'm still trying to run the CVEC pipe out of the back of my RS43 but I'm pretty sure I gotta make a custom header so it will clear the body.I'm also gonna try to run one stinger instead of 2...gettin late,ya never know.

RE: late night custom fabs
you should use the ss header den make your own attachment or whatever you guys call dat **** out of copper tubing. make it so it runs to the back. i dont know bout the performance but it should work

thats a great idea...till you try it.when you flip the SS header and couple it to the custom exhaust pipe,it clears the rear tire but unless you cut the body above the wheel,it wont work.I did that and had to hack up my Trans Am body only to take it off without ever running it because I thought it would have flow problems because of the 90 degree couplers and straight pipe I used. Now I have a one piece custom bent tube and I've removed the piston from the CVEC for more flow and stripped the crap silver powdercoat off of it so it looks better,I just need to weld or braze the single stinger in and cover the 2 holes for the old ones.Luckily this is all reversible if it doesn't work, lol.

Well,I made a front mount cold air intake system but the bad part is,I can't find my camera.I used black 3/8 pneumatic tubing and a Y fitting I drilled out for more airflow that splits into 2 filters that sit above the front foam bumper in the RS43.I'll keep lookin for the camera, its pretty cool...and the body even still fits, lol.

Damn,I never thought of that. Just kidding, the end of the tubing is flared over the carb and held with a tie wrap like an exhaust coupler. It was too dark when I took a pic of that but I'll get some more later.

No,I haven't run it yet but I doubt I'll notice any difference...theres no doubt it will get a little bit cooler ,faster moving air going in but I doubt there will be much difference. It just makes me feel better about the intake air temp and it looks cool.I'm wondering if the Y fitting will kinda force the air to move a little faster when it converges into the one tube..I drilled out the fitting for higher flow too.
