The glow plug is bad, What motor is it , if its a non pull start make sure your starting it the right direction, it will run in both directions, if your starting it in the right direction then something is put together wrong in the diff.

I agree. You need to check the Transmission and Differential to make sure everything is okay. On most r/c cars, the Diff will fit in the diff case either way. If the differential is installed with the big gear on the left, for example, and you remove the diff and turn it around so the big gear is on the right.... Now the car will run backwards.
As for the stalling.... Is that .15FE brand new? If so, the rich break-in settings can make it hard to start. You can try a hotter glowplug for breakin (what plug do you use now?) or you can lean the mixture screw about 1/8 to 1/4 turn to get the engine started. Once the engine starts and warms up a little (about 30-45 seconds) you need to richen the screw back to the original breakin settings to safely complete the break-in procedure.
Also ensure that your glow heater is fully charged (if rechargeable) or has a fresh battery if it uses regular batteries. A weak glow heater can make any engine difficult to start.

its not the transmission you cant put the gears in a rush in backwards or anything to make it run backwards. i own a rush and have replaced the diff cups, diff inner gears multiple times, stripped the centre gear in the gearbox and it doesnt matter which direction any of the gears are put in the car will still go forwards.(its impossible to put the inner diff gears in backwards they wont fit)
i agree with nitrofan your probly running rich thats why car is stalling. do you flood the motor a lot and is a lot of liquid pouring out the exhaust?

seconds the reverse is not possible.. unless your bump starting the engine. I have bump started the rush the wrong direction before. if your bump starting it...make sure the bump start wheel is spinning the same direction the flywheel needs to spin... if you understand that.... Well if your starting it the wrong way, it just won't idle... I've started engines the wrong direction.. and they won't idle... period.. I think that's your problem.. he has to be bump starting it if he's got it going in the wrong direction.... if the one way bearing was facing the other way... and he pulled it.. the pull start won't retract.... the only way that thing goes the wrong direction is the engine is spinning the wrong direction..
