Um its obvious that a change can cause problems, you could have picked up your package anytime after the first attempt for delivery.

Nope, he cant pickup his package. Home delivery service is a subcontracted part of Fedex where people RENT trucks and vans and deliver packages for Fedex.

Now, seeing that you've had so many attempts, they should make arrangements for you to pick it up.

The arent even required to carry a cell phone and Fedex claims they have no way of contacting home delivery drivers unless they have their PERSONAL CELL phone on file - they dont stop back at the depot at the end of their shift which is why they run past 8PM and why you cant pickup your package -- they dont take it back to the depot

Ive had many conversations with Fedex about their crappy Home Delivery service.

Thats just wrong, it makes no difference where the driver goes after he makes his deliveries, he has to go into the hub to pick up packages in the morning doesnt he? They dont just appear in his truck when he is asleep at night do they?

LOL just giving ya a hard time...lol

After the first attempt you CALL the hub or local delivery POP and tell them you want to pick up the package. When the driver comes in they will toss you package off the truck and hold it for you, you can pick it up the next day at the latest.

I have called countless times and picked up my package the same day, I have been waiting when the driver pulled into the hub and watched my package come out of the back of the truck.

Also, you need to brush up on your FEDEX shipping information. Ground shippment drivers do not carry scanners so information on tracking and so forth only gets updated when the driver hits the hub. Express drivers which is the Federal Express Primary service, scan everything and packages can be accounted for just about any time.

Dont complain about bad ground service because you get what you pay for, if you want something right away and want good tracking information pay the extra few bucks and send it express. In this particular situation it would make sense to call them and get with a supervisor to confirm the name change.

Well the only reason I angry is because our neighbors changed the road name, but fedex could not understand that we changed it... we called and said that 4040 Elkader Rd was changed to 4040 Winterhill Dr in Placerville, CA 95667. and they said ok and put down ...

4040 Winterhill Dr
Elkader, CA 95667

NO ELKADER WAS THE ROAD NAME!!! NOT THE CITY!! rofl

it's all good now though we called them up and gave them step by step instructions to get to our house (it also doesen't help when we are in a rural area)

BTW HondaCRX - lol funny pic

Hehe.. I agree with you but have had the same issues several times. If you call FedEx customer service and ask them about Home delivery, they will tell you the trucks dont stop at the hub at tnight. They have to stop in the morning to get their packages - I didnt mean to make it sound the way it did.

Fedex has no contact with Home Delivery drivers though unless the driver uses his personal cell phone. Some drivers Ive been able to reach and meet when the didnt drop off my package however some drivers they couldnt reach due to not having a number listed.

Theyve also told me that I cant pick my package up at the hub because the drivers dont go back when they finish their routes.

Now, if you contact FedEx, they will have the driver drop off the package, but he does so the next morning when he stops in for more packages.

Otherwise, they stay on the truck overnight. Ive actually been told that by FedEx customer support. That is also how the drivers for home delivery can run so late, they dont ahve to be back at the hub. They run til 8 or 9PM i believe

Also, just wanted to make sure that you knew his package was not shipped via ground nor express, but home delivery, which is enirely different from ground and express.

I too have picked up many packages at the hub the same day they missed me, but only for ground or express - not home delivery. I've also had FedEx contact the driver, and the driver contacts me and we meet on his next stop to get my package. Home delivery is not a service in which that can happen ALL the time because like I said they arent required to carry phones however some do in which case you are able to meet them or make arrangements.
