hey everyone i finally got my car inferno sports. man does it rock. know i have some ?s. i cant seem to get the engine tuned right. i need to know what im looking for in perfectly tuned engine. the instructions arent a very big help. since ive never seen a properly runing engine i dont know what im looking for. it was running good. it dies when i trigger the gas at slow speeds. im not sure if i got the rpms right. im not sure if i got the carb set right. its a gx 21. so if you guys could give me some pointers or any advice at all i would greatly appreciatte it. Did you break in your engine per instructions?
After you get the engine warmed up how long can you idle it?
I think that Nitroaddict has a thread on this somewhere.
Warmed up car, drive it up to you hold your break and count the seconds it takes before the idle changes.
It's kind of a deeper sound almost like it is slowing your engine down a bit.
If you are only getting about 5 seconds or less before the "idle" changes you are too rich.
If break in is finished your running too rich.
You need to adjust your HSN first, this is the most crucial needle as far as keeping you engine running cool.
You Always need to see smoke coming from your exhaust, and you should be able to feel the oil while it's at idle.

Hey dude, RCB covered it pretty well. Chances are it will be rich from break in. Lean the high speed needle out in 1/8 turn increments until you are happy with performance and there is a lot of smoke coming out of the pipe at all speeds. I never really mess with the low speed needle..It is pretty well set at the factory, and the high speed needle does most of the 'grunt work'. I am a hardcore basher, not so much of a racer. A racer will tell you to adjust both to get maximum performance. Does the engine pick up speed a little, then stutter and die? It is probably too lean. Does the engine get really low in RPM when you hit the gas? Does it sound bubbly? Chances are it is too rich. PS, I wouldn't have broken in the engine in the weather we are having [:@]

is there supose to smoke when it idles or just when i gas it. i think i got it close to being right not sure if its all the way ther yet. i also broke it in in an under ground garage. its heated and very big. i can hit almost top speed now after the engine is broke in of coarse.
