Default Some video of my winter fun!

Here's a little video that I made last year of my HPI NMT and my brother in laws HPI Rush that I though you all might get a kick out of. As some of you know, I'm a die hard 1/8 scale buggy guy but I cut my "nitro" teeth on 1/10 scale trucks. I'm posting this video for 2 reasons, first is for entertainment purposes and second is that I read that a lot of people put there RC's up for the winter because it's too cold and things might break. If you just don't like cold weather, then this will do very little to change your mind however if the cold is ok by you, then here is some proof that you can drive your rc's in the dead of winter and still have fun!

Just to set the stage, a majority of this video was shot in temps ranging from 35 degrees down to 20 degrees. My NMT held up very well (with only a broken ball stud) and my brother in laws HPI Rush held up just as well if not better. Enjoy!

That ramp is the same ramp that you see in all my videos. Originally, we built the ramp and then covered it with 1/4" plexiglass. It makes for some cool footage! For the buggies, we had to use wood because the buggies would basically drive right through it . The HPI NMT is a great truck! I enjoyed mine very much however when I got my PBS, I basically just put it to the side. It sounded like a toy when compared to the noise a buggy makes.

I actually made a DVD of this video and sent it to HPI. They played it at one of their meetings and really dug it so they sent me a bunch of free crap .

Thanks! The timing between the video and the music was the toughest part! I had to keep going back and adjusting the clip lengths to coincide with the changes in the music. It was a pain, but fun nevertheless.

Sweet video! That ramp was perfect! What engine are you running the the Nitro MT? Strange, I have a Nitro MT and my friend has a Rush. Both hopped up. We will have to make a video to compete with this one. That ramp was sweet! Can we get some specs, like an estimate on how steep it is, how tall, etc? Sweet video!

You'd probably be surprised to know that the engine in the NMT was the stock 15FE. I gave it the "breathing treatment" though and used a port matched and polished HPI RS4 SS tubular exhaust header with a Losi Adam Drake tuned pipe. For a 15FE, that thing moved! As for the ramp, thats just something we "eyeballed". Most people will just put a 4X4 sheet of wood over a couple bricks and use that. We figured that we wanted a curved transition so that the trucks and buggies would not nose into the ramp and scrub off speed. I'll grab the specs when I'm at my brother in laws tonight and post them a little later on.

Cool video! But you call that winter ! Weres all the snow ? Out here in Winnipeg (CANADA) I just finished digging myself out of my igloo LOL for the third time this winter ! The only reason I dont run is because my truck would need skies and tracks. LOL !

after watching this video twice i have to say that it was totally amazing. i know why even HPI loved it. i am quite new to nitro cars and that video will definitely make me stick to driving them. hopefully one day i can do the exact same and make my own video. keep up the good work.

Nice shooted but you do the same error as many other shooting engine powered stuff - add that bad music! Its the music of the engine that should be heard not some rapass. If i want music i turn it on my computer or radio. HALF the experience dissapear when you cant hear the engine sound. If you have the original sound i would rather have it. Also if you dont like the music it turn down the experience even more. If you feel you have to add music then add it in the background so you can still hear the engine sound. A RC car seems twice as fast when you hear the engine sound, think about it.

I actually considered "My Heart will go on" from the Titanic movie, but I just didn't sound right! Lol!!!! I figured that the "rapass" music fit the energy of the video better.
