For those of you with E-Maxx's...
What does it mean that this truck has a two-speed transmission.....does the driver have to shift this from the radio...how exactly does this work? Also...I am a total novice with RC cars....I see a lot of adds for "hop-ups" - what are these? Are they just simply better modifications/replacements for stock parts?
thanks!

I have a T-Maxx on which the 2-speed shifts automatically according to where I set the tension on its clutch. The E-Maxx, since it has electric motors that reverse with the same channel as the brake, has the third channel available to manually shift the tranny via a rocker switch, with your thumb, behind the throttle trigger. Just like in a real car, this changes the gear ratio. Low gear for slow grunt, high gear for higher speed. And like in a real car, you will hear the motors and gears speed up and plateau, and figure out pretty quickly when and where you want to shift.
