A standard servo is just a coreless motor with a natural center which is set for no signal at whatever input, really hard to explain lol. A digital is microprocessor controled and automatically corrects itself to the center that you have set with the trim feature on your radio about 30 times a second so you will never get those wandering cars that randomely go slightly left or slightly right after you straighten out depending on which way was the last way you turned.
