First of all do you want nitro or electric?

If you want nitro then I would say to get a stadium force. It comes partially assembled but still requires a lot of work. Plus the kit includes an engine. So all you need to buy is the radio gear.

If you want electric then I suggest a xxx-t matt francis. Losi makes their kits very easy to assemble.

I recommend the OFNA Ultra MBX Pro RTR if you are on a tight budget. This car has a very good bang/buck ratio

if you want a buggy kit the OFNA MBX R2 is 80% put together you just have to install engine and radio system.

LOL sorry about that, im a bit tired over here. Guess i didnt read your post thorough enough. If you want to build the kit from scratch you could go with a OFNA Hyper 7 or Mugen MBX5. Most of Team Associated's cars also come in kit versions. The savage SS is a good monster truck kit.

If your budget still is limited to $350, the stadium force limits you to about $80-100 for the transmitter, receiver and two servos. Examples of radio kits in this price range is the Futaba 2PH/2PL, Airtronics Blazer and Hitec Aggressor.
