Is it worth upgrading?

I got a Tamiya baja champ for my first car. Should i spend some money on upgrading it or wait a while and go for something better?

get something new,, for what you spend upgrading most of the time you can buy a whole car.... But if you are buying high end next time.. well then there is room to upgrade.. money talks but sweat works too...

depends what kind of entry level and if its a car you like, i love my rustler so im gonna upgrade it so ill do as good as any of the higher end STs, anyways half the fun of rc cars is workingon them and fiddling with them....

I have a baja champ. The ball bearing set for a TL-01 costs about $20 and really turns the car into a better runner. That's the only upgrade worth doing, IMHO. The fact that the battery pack sticks out the sides makes this a poor choice for off-road fun.
The Evader series or an Associated buggy kit might be the ticket for your next ride. You can pick up some deals on Ebay on "last year's models."

The servos would be stronger, the range could be greater, etc. If you move on to another higher level car, those features could become more important down the line.
